Life Legacy
Henrietta Marie Walton, 55, of Monterey CA, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2011. She was born on April 17, 1956 in Fort Ord.
Henrietta spent her childhood on a farm in Prunedale. She loved horses and animals and was a great horse rider. Her foster mother put her in the Brownies and she excelled her way up to Girl Scout an earned a lot of badges and awards.
Henrietta attended Salinas High School where she played Powder Puff and was elected prom queen. She was the first black student to get a scholarship to San Diego State where she got her Bachelor's degree .
She gave birth to Venice Moses in 1980 and then packed up and moved to Monterey County where she lived the last 30 years of her life.
Henrietta is survived by her daughter Venice Moses and dog Bam Bam, and numerous family and friends.
Memorial Service will be held at 12:00pm Friday, December 30, 2011 at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 390 Elm Avenue, Seaside, CA 93955
